International Kids’ Yoga Day

Friday, April 4th, 2025

Welcome to Kids' Yoga Day, an annual celebration dedicated to giving the gift of yoga to children, families and educators all over the world.

Kids’ Yoga Day, now in its tenth year, takes place in April each year.

Since 2016, over 500,000 kids from all over the world have experienced the magic of Kids' Yoga Day.

Since 2016, 500,000+ children from 45 countries, 6 continents, and all 50 US states have participated in Kids’ Yoga Day, founded by international kids’ yoga educator, Teresa Power.

Parents, caregivers, and educators volunteer to lead a group of children through a special yoga routine on Friday, April 4th at schools, libraries, yoga studios, parks, homes, and daycare centers. We call them our ambassadors. No prior yoga experience is needed. All International Kids’ Yoga Day ambassadors receive free resources, such as yoga routines appropriate for kids (and adults) of all ages and abilities, videos, training calls, and other support.

Not interested in holding an event? That’s okay. You can sign up to follow along at home as a participant.

Our Mission: To make the life-changing practice of yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of age, location or finances.

On Kids’ Yoga Day, we:

  • Provide access to yoga to those who would otherwise not have the opportunity
  • Help prevent conditions and challenges facing our youth and their families such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol, obesity and stress
  • Show how just 5 minutes of yoga a day can boost the mental and physical health and wellness of our children.

At 11:00am, 250 kids joined in the gymnasium and got to breathe and stretch and be still. The teachers love it too. Thank you, Teresa, for bringing awareness to kids all over the world.

Thank you for creating this event! I had so much fun endorsing it throughout the public schools in Cambridge. Because of Kids’ Yoga Day, countless children were reached.

It was amazing to reach the children in the school and community settings that otherwise would not
have access to yoga!

Kids’ Yoga Day is special to me because it [reminds] us that the entire world is with us on this day.

Not only do kids love doing yoga, but also taking part of something bigger than themselves. In this stressful, conflicted world, isn’t that what it’s all about?

We’re looking for people like you to make Kids’ Yoga Day possible and give the gift of yoga to our children. Let’s make this world a better place, one pose at a time.
